Context

Terralpha, an SNCF Réseau subsidiary, is strengthening its teams and recruiting an Apprentice Systems and Networks Engineer.
Terralpha's ambition is to deploy ultra-high-speed, highly reliable points of presence throughout France. Terralpha's unique national network, combined with its full ownership of the railway arteries, gives it unprecedented resilience, security and sovereignty.
Terralpha's digital trust service has been extended to include the construction of Digital Dalles. These purpose-built spaces enable customers to install DataCenters on railway rights-of-way, where they will benefit from carrier-grade energy, data transport, surveillance and access services.

Main objectives of the position

As part of the Information Systems department, you will be involved in the design and development of Terralpha's information system architecture.
Helping to implement and maintain the information systems needed to run the company in line with its strategy.
Supervising, maintaining and upgrading the IT infrastructure located in several data centres.

Job description

As an apprentice systems and network engineer, you will play an active role in managing, securing and upgrading IT infrastructures.
He or she participates in the design and implementation of the company's strategy and plays an active role in the deployment of equipment.
As part of the technical team, he or she will take charge of and implement the various projects assigned to him or her.
Under the supervision of the IT Department, your tasks will be as follows:

Systems and network administration :

  • Install, configure and maintain servers (Windows, Linux, etc.) and network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls).
  • Manage virtualised environments (VMware and XCP-NG).
  • Participating in monitoring and diagnosing incidents on systems and networks.
  • Documenting procedures and technical configurations.

IT security :

  • Implementing security policies (access rights, firewalling, antivirus).
  • Monitor security updates for systems and equipment.
  • Carrying out audits and proposing solutions for improving infrastructure security.

Infrastructure projects :

  • Contribute to the modernisation of infrastructure.
  • Participating in projects to integrate new technologies.
  • Assisting with the implementation of automation tools to simplify system and network administration.

Technical support :

  • Provide level 2/3 support to internal teams.
  • Tracking tickets in incident management tools.

Profile required

Technical skills

  • Knowledge of network administration (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.)
  • Knowledge of virtualisation systems
  • General knowledge of Windows systems (Server, Active Directory, GPO, etc.)
  • General knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Unix, MacOS)
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Python)
  • Good level of technical English
  • Aptitude for new technologies (IPv6, automation, etc.)
