Level 3 Support Engineer F/H

Context

Terralpha, an SNCF Réseau subsidiary, is strengthening its teams and recruiting a Level 3 Support Engineer.
Terralpha's ambition is to deploy ultra-high-speed, highly reliable points of presence throughout France. Terralpha's unique national network, combined with its full ownership of the railway arteries, gives it unprecedented resilience, security and sovereignty.
Terralpha's digital trust service has been extended to include the construction of Digital Dalles. These purpose-built spaces enable customers to install DataCenters on railway rights-of-way, where they will benefit from carrier-grade energy, data transport, surveillance and access services.

Job description & main activities

Reporting to our Operations Department and the NOC Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the network's transmission assets at Level 3.

  • Maintaining the WDM network, analysing and resolving network and customer incidents
  • Deployment of the network and WDM services
  • Works with the engineering teams and makes proposals for network upgrades
  • Operational validation of technical projects
  • Manufacturers' technical interface
  • Technical support for Level 3 customer service, supervisory staff and field technicians
  • Deployment of software bearings
  • Network performance monitoring

Resources and working conditions

The Level 3 Support Engineer will be required to work both alone and as part of a team with the many internal and external stakeholders involved in his/her subject.
Most of the time, the place of work will be Saint-Denis. However, some travel may be required throughout France.

Profile required

Telecoms engineer or profile with solid experience in WDM transmission with an operator or manufacturer. Mastery of the WordPress CMS would be a plus.

Theoretical knowledge and know-how

  • Knowledge of networks and transmission
  • Mastery of WDM technologies
  • Experience with ADVA WDM products would be a plus
  • General knowledge of fibre optics.
  • IP knowledge. NRS1 or CCNA certification would be a plus
